Typically pole sheds have laminated posts with the portion of the wood in the ground being PWF and spruce plys integrated into the post. The post that is buried in the ground needs to have crushed rock surrounding it so that moisture does not become trapped against the post causing rot.
We offer different options to clients based on their needs.
The standard 2×8 post is laminated, glued, pressed and nailed with 4” nails.
Depending on the size of the building, we typically use 3,4,and 5 ply posts depending on the width and height of the building.
Our pier system has concrete in the ground, a wet set bracket and a post above ground for clients that don’t wish to have wood in the ground.
Grade beams, we also build pole sheds on grade beams for clients that don’t want wood in the ground and want the extra strength and security that concrete supplys.

- Wallbar Cellulose Blow-In R34 with 2×8 wall (superior R value and rodent resistant)
- John Mansfield Bat Insulation- R28 in 2×8 wall (an economical alternative)
- Spray foam (a popular alternative that seals up buildings)
- Rock wool (great for soundproofing and is rodent resistant)
